Nexus One;The phone that got closest to beating the record of the Legendary IPhone.

Competition is what pushes giants like Google,Microsoft, and Apple to their very limit.Competion and ego are what present us with marvels like IPhone and Google phone.

Back in 2007, when Apple bedazzled everyone with its sexy Iphone, companies like Google frantically started working to make a miracle of their own.And thus started the war of Android smartphones.

On January 6th, Google unleashed its own slinky, sexy, and smart phone- Nexus One a.k.a Google Phone.Nexus One is powered by Android 2.1 operating system, it features 3.7’’ AMOLED screen, 1Ghz Snapdragon processor with 512mb of Ram and 5 megapixels autofocus camera with flash to go with it.Yes, you heard it right, 512 mb of RAM and an autofocus camera of 5 megapixel!

Unlocked version of Nexus One will go on sale for US $529.99, and the one locked with T-Mobile for 2 years contract will cost US $179.99. The CDMA version of the phone will be arriving on Verizon Wireless in Spring 2010. More on Nexus One availability and price plan can be found here.

But,unfortunately, the Nexus One could not beat the Iphone. Iphone still is considered as the best smartphone ever.Yes, the phone is faster and looks more stylish when compared to other Android based handsets available today. But it is nothing revolutionary, neither does it bring anything new to the table. The fact that it doesn’t support multitouch functionality doesn’t help its cause. In my opinion, Nexus One, like all others, is still trying to catch up on the original iPhone which was released back in 2007.

The Others

Just finished watching the fourth episode of season 4 and I noticed a couple of things. The way the episode portrayed the Others was extremely intriguing since the books do not divulge too much information about this icy mystique. In the episode, we first sense that the Others are about to come when we see the poured water freezing in front of Ghost. Whenever the Others appear, the temperature drops or they appear WHEN the temperatures drop. Research about them is scarce, as Samwell Tarly says in book five (small spoiler, sorry!). Whatever the case, they are correlated with a drop in temperatures. If you see water freezing instantly, you better get your dragon steel ready. We then see one of the Other taking the sacrificed baby on a horse to a mountain. This is where things get really interesting. The one riding the horse is the familiar Other. We have seen him before. He was the one leading the attack against the Night's Watch men on Fist of the First Men. But the second Othe...

Bermuda Triangle: The Devil's Lair

Many people argue, that it doesn't exist. And, you won't find it in any map.The U. S. Board of Geographic Names does not recognize the Bermuda Triangle and does not maintain an official file on it. However, within this imaginary area, many real vessels and the people aboard them have seemingly disappeared without explanation. The Bermuda Triangle is located off the Southeastern coast of the United States in the Atlantic Ocean, with its apexes in the vicinities of Bermuda, Miami, Florida, and San Juan, Puerto Rico. It covers roughly 500,000 square miles. The main mystery surrounding the Devils Lair is of unusual and unsolved disappearances o f many ships and planes.According to Llyod's of London reported 428 missing vessels throughout the world between 1955 and 1975.But, the report only contained huge vessels which were insured.Gian J. Quasar, author of "Into the Bermuda Triangle: Pursuing the Truth Behind the World's Greatest Mystery" , later found out 300 mis...

"Why are you mixing English with your native tongue?"

I was asked the aforementioned question while I was talking in Bengali (!) with my parents. I put down my phone, smiled and turned towards my friend and said to him: "Oh! Everyone in my country does it.We mix a couple of English words here and there with our language". With a quizzical expression, he said: "That's weird. Why don't you speak in fluent Bengali? Isn't that your mother tongue?" His questions stopped me on my track, because the answer shocked and shamed me. I realized that the reason we don't speak in straight Bengali is because we don't know how to. That we are too much used to speaking in English with everyone back in our country. That we focused so much on English that we forgot our own mother tongue. I didn't want to tell my friend that there are people, students of my age, who preferred English over Bengali, preferred to write essays in English than in Bengali. Heck! I know people who can't even count from 1 to 100 in ...
