Pre-Exam stress?

Head low, lips fervently murmuring, and hours after hours spent in front of open books, surely,is the scene in most of the houses right now.Well, it's exam time, what do you expect? Moreover,I have decided to blog at such abnormal time after FOUR months, just to escape from the blatant hours of studying. This writing would be especially a treat to all those people who are sitting for their O levels and did not reach the apex of EXAM MATURATION. Definitely, I fall into the category as well. You all are feeling a little shock whenever you imagine yourself in the hall, right? A little jumping feeling in the mid of your chest? The vast hollowness in your stomach, when imagining yourself waiting for the question paper? Don't know about you, but I definitely am. Well, here is a list of couple of friendly advices:

1.Don't beat yourself up- Come on! You are going to beat yourself up anyway in the next week. Why do it now? Let your brain have some rest and be mentally prepared for the exam.If you have two exams in one day, stop crying over it, and just look at it as a matter of fact.Play it cool.

2.Don't listen to your tummy- I mean it.Trust me, you don't want to risk diarrhea, or food poising before your exams. They can be killers! Eat consciously and intelligently.Don't overfill your stomach.

3.Try watching TV or a movie a little- This is specially helpful for those candidates sitting for English exam. You just might get the perfect plot for your essay writing!

4.Read the contents, not the whole chapter- Simply put, don't try to finish the whole syllabus overnight. You will exhaust your brain and yield a fruitless result. It is specially rewarding, if you go through revision guides and your teacher's selected suggestions. It will cut down your magnimous work dramatically and efficaciously get your job done.

5.Read the book-I'm not kidding. You should try it.Reading books, instead of just reading the notes, will help in many arrays. For starters, its more interesting! As your are better prepared, the book will make more sense to you, and give a wide horizon of knowledge. This helps in answering all those nasty little tricky questions that Edexcel throws so discriminately.

Hope the above suggestions help you thin out your stress. You know what? If you have read up to to this point, I've already helped you to down your stress by making you read something other than study materials! And oh yeah! All these notions are self inventory and not proved by any research. If they are useless, you cant blame me!

The Others

Just finished watching the fourth episode of season 4 and I noticed a couple of things. The way the episode portrayed the Others was extremely intriguing since the books do not divulge too much information about this icy mystique. In the episode, we first sense that the Others are about to come when we see the poured water freezing in front of Ghost. Whenever the Others appear, the temperature drops or they appear WHEN the temperatures drop. Research about them is scarce, as Samwell Tarly says in book five (small spoiler, sorry!). Whatever the case, they are correlated with a drop in temperatures. If you see water freezing instantly, you better get your dragon steel ready. We then see one of the Other taking the sacrificed baby on a horse to a mountain. This is where things get really interesting. The one riding the horse is the familiar Other. We have seen him before. He was the one leading the attack against the Night's Watch men on Fist of the First Men. But the second Othe...

Bermuda Triangle: The Devil's Lair

Many people argue, that it doesn't exist. And, you won't find it in any map.The U. S. Board of Geographic Names does not recognize the Bermuda Triangle and does not maintain an official file on it. However, within this imaginary area, many real vessels and the people aboard them have seemingly disappeared without explanation. The Bermuda Triangle is located off the Southeastern coast of the United States in the Atlantic Ocean, with its apexes in the vicinities of Bermuda, Miami, Florida, and San Juan, Puerto Rico. It covers roughly 500,000 square miles. The main mystery surrounding the Devils Lair is of unusual and unsolved disappearances o f many ships and planes.According to Llyod's of London reported 428 missing vessels throughout the world between 1955 and 1975.But, the report only contained huge vessels which were insured.Gian J. Quasar, author of "Into the Bermuda Triangle: Pursuing the Truth Behind the World's Greatest Mystery" , later found out 300 mis...

"Why are you mixing English with your native tongue?"

I was asked the aforementioned question while I was talking in Bengali (!) with my parents. I put down my phone, smiled and turned towards my friend and said to him: "Oh! Everyone in my country does it.We mix a couple of English words here and there with our language". With a quizzical expression, he said: "That's weird. Why don't you speak in fluent Bengali? Isn't that your mother tongue?" His questions stopped me on my track, because the answer shocked and shamed me. I realized that the reason we don't speak in straight Bengali is because we don't know how to. That we are too much used to speaking in English with everyone back in our country. That we focused so much on English that we forgot our own mother tongue. I didn't want to tell my friend that there are people, students of my age, who preferred English over Bengali, preferred to write essays in English than in Bengali. Heck! I know people who can't even count from 1 to 100 in ...
