Infinite time, finite resources: How to spend the vacation.

The vacation has started for most of us. And will start for many. I, myself, am having a tough time figuring out what to do. There is just too must leisure time, isn't there? And we all know: too much of anything is bad. Here is a list of suggestions of how to spend your time.

1.Hook yourself up with TV shows- This is, according to me, and I know many would agree, the best possible way to kill your time. Try to manage the complete seasons of TV shows. Okay, not ONLY complete series, collect ALL the seasons of the show. I can guarantee, once you get hooked, you will find time rocketing through. The TV shows that I find intriguing, enjoyable, lovable and ultimate time killers are:

*PSYCH(4 seasons)-Comedy and thriller
*Band of Brothers-War,Drama.
*The Pacific-War,Drama.
*Bones-Thriller.
*Two and a Half Men-Comedy
*Castle-Thriller
*Warehouse 13-Fantasy,Thriller.
*And of course, FRIENDS-comedy.

There are many more which are shrouded in my head. How will you get the shows? Well, I don't know.I am only giving the advices. The Pacific is telecasted in HBO(Sunday,1130 BD time).Castle and FRIENDS are telecasted in Star Worlds(Monday to Thursday,930 to 10 and 10 30 to 11 30 respectively.)

2. Write something- I know people are going to be calling names after reading this subtitle, but trust me, writing will bring some peace and will , undoubtedly, exhaust some time. Take your time to write your diaries or journals. Even better, open a blog. Then people like me can spend some time reading them too.

3.Outdoor Sports- Remove all shackles that bind you to the four walls and sprint out to Mother Nature! This will help you in many levels: burn all those useless fluffy fats in your body, intensify your sleep, boost up your stamina and strength, and of course, kill time which you really want!

4.Go to the library- This is enormously helpful when the load shedding starts and you are bored, as the power to the TV and your PC just got slashed. Go to the library, enjoy the air conditioner, and read something. It does not necessarily have to be a book.Just pick up the latest Reader's Digest or Rolling Stone issue, and delve into another world. If you want a name of a place,I go to the American Centre Library,in Banani

5.Gaming- Now this is my personal favorite. Get on online gaming in your nearest game zone and start shooting the hell out of everything. You can try the latest games in your PC or any gaming portal.I would recommend: Assassin's Creed 2, Prince of Persia:The Forgotten Sands, Dragon Age,FEAR 2, Bioshock, FiFa 2010, PES 2010.

6.To Do List- Before going to bed, try to make a to do list. This will help you to manage your time, give you HOPE that there ARE things to do, make you more sleepy before you go to bed, and kill some time while doing it.

I think you can spend a couple of months doing these stuffs.Enjoy the vacation. And if any one the seasons of the above mentioned TV series, please make me a creditor by giving them to me( of course I will return them!).

  1. U forgot story books....i have a few suggestions...ever heard of AGATHA CRISTIE????....shez the best there is. Better than DAN BROWN or MARIO PUZO!!! Her works were translated in more languages than SHAKESPHERES!!! To start you off on her works read the following:

    1. They came to Baghdad (a real treat this one.)

    2. The seven dials

    3. Murder in the Nile.

  2. I guess it falls under Go to Library Section but I figured out that not many people love reading books.I will give Agatha a try after I finish Hakan' Nesser's The Mind's Eye. If u can, try reading David Baldacci's Stone Cold! Its the second BEST Secret Service novel after The Bourne Series.

The Others

Just finished watching the fourth episode of season 4 and I noticed a couple of things. The way the episode portrayed the Others was extremely intriguing since the books do not divulge too much information about this icy mystique. In the episode, we first sense that the Others are about to come when we see the poured water freezing in front of Ghost. Whenever the Others appear, the temperature drops or they appear WHEN the temperatures drop. Research about them is scarce, as Samwell Tarly says in book five (small spoiler, sorry!). Whatever the case, they are correlated with a drop in temperatures. If you see water freezing instantly, you better get your dragon steel ready. We then see one of the Other taking the sacrificed baby on a horse to a mountain. This is where things get really interesting. The one riding the horse is the familiar Other. We have seen him before. He was the one leading the attack against the Night's Watch men on Fist of the First Men. But the second Othe...

Criss Angel Mindfreak: The Wizard of AXN

I'm pretty sure most of us is familiar with Criss Angel, and with good reasons. He is an American illusionist, magician, escapologist and stunt performer. Note that I wrote illusionist first, cause that's what Criss likes to think of himself. His show, Criss Angel Mindfreak, is broad casted on AXN on Wednesdays, at 16:30 GMT. Believe me, his illusions are mindblowing, and apparently impossible! But that's what Criss is best at;making the impossible seem normal! Allow me to give an example. Criss Angel has set himself the target of walking across Lake Mead, the largest lake in US. And he does succeed. He walks on water for about 200 yards. Now, remember people, its a lake.So it rules put any theories of plexiglass pillars. Moreover, Criss, at the end of his walk, start to sink under the water, eventually disappearing completely! The illusion is simply awesome, and many critics have failed to provide an explanation for this! One explanation says " He had completed construction...

Here's to Beethoven's 9th

This week was a LONG one. I didn't sleep a single day stress free, but heck, that's what college life is all about! Right now, I am way out of my comfort zone in my class. I'm taking Music in Stanley Kubrick's films, and I have no knowledge about music. I am learning how to describe music and all these new terms. Sometimes, it feels a bit overwhelming, with 2 tests, one presentation and 1 weekend project every week. But in the midst of all these chaos, I found one thing: Beethoven's 9th. I cannot describe the music maestro's 9th symphony and that's what is most beautiful about this masterpiece. Its everything and nothing at the same time. Its life made sound. Its energy made vibrations. Those crescendos takes you up high in the sky and let's you fly. It lets the emotion flow through your body smoothly. And the 4th movement fills you up with this inexplicable happiness. Oh! When they start the chorus, I feel something running through my body- something...
