How HIMYM ripped off FRIENDS.

Finally I can access my blog without the need of proxy servers, so it's time to start things with a bang! Moving on, to the issue in hand, the so-called comedy "HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER". Well, not so-called,it's a good show. But the thing that pisses me off so much is that when people start screaming how it is the BEST comedy ever made! Come one! The only reason you are saying it is the BEST is because it is the ONLY decent comedy show you have ever watched! When compared to FRIENDS,HIMYM is worse than a tapeworm. And I'm pretty sure you have never heard of ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT or BIG BANG THEORY. Time to grow up kiddos!

HIMYM is a rip off of Friends and I will prove it you now. Let's start with the core idea, (1) a group of FRIENDS hanging out together, with their individual life story mingling together to give the main theme of the story. In Friends, there were 6 FRIENDS, but in HIMYM there are 5 FRIENDS.Big difference, psst! Both of the shows revolve around the friendship amongst them and their individual trait.(2)The people in HIMYM drinks alcohol in a bar, where as the good people of FRIENDS drink coffee in a cafe. The bar is a rip off of the cafe(clarification for any moron who did not understand this). Friends was released in 1994 and HIMYM in 2005, so logic dictates HIMYM ripped off FRIENDS. Enuff said!

Now lets look at the characters. We all know the favorite character of FRIENDS is undoubtedly Joey, and of HIMYM is Barney.(3)Both of them are womanizer and sleeps with tonnes of women. But the catch is, Joey is utterly dumb and Barney is utterly perverted. This difference do help to make HIMYM take a little bit of limelight.I do like Barney and his BRO CODES.

(4)Lily and Marshal is the reincarnation of Monica and Chandler: loving, caring, and loyal married couples. (5)Both Marshall and Chandler has a disability:they cannot flirt with other women. But the fact that Chandler is infinity times more hilarious than Marshall and his whole frigging family makes FRIENDS the god of comedy of all time.Ok,maybe I'm exaggerating a little, but Friends blows off HIMYM.

Now coming to Ted,how would you describe him? Smart? Organised?Looking for love of his life? Hey wait!? Those are the exact words I would use to describe Ross!Funny coincidence ! Ted is not exactly like Ross, saying that would be lying, but they do have a lot of resemblance. (6)Ted is a huge fan of historical buildings and Ross is obsessed with dinosaurs. Point to be noted, both of them HISTORY written all over them.

Another similarity, (7)the sexual tension of Robin and Ted. This is an exact copy of the friction between Ross and Rachel. This really pisses me off, because the hide and seek game of dating and breaking up of Ross and Rachel was annoying enough, but the hide and seek game of HIMYM is an excruciating annoyance! It took him a whole freaking season for Ted to ask out Robin! It's USA not Saudia Arabia for God's sake!

I have given you 7 good reasons showing how HIMYM tried to rip off FRIENDS but failed miserably.I watched all the 10 seasons of FRIENDS and finished them together.Never once was I bored. I was left out of breath laughing countless time during this period, clutching my stomach, begging myself to stop laughing. If you haven't seen it, kill yourself please.

The Others

Just finished watching the fourth episode of season 4 and I noticed a couple of things. The way the episode portrayed the Others was extremely intriguing since the books do not divulge too much information about this icy mystique. In the episode, we first sense that the Others are about to come when we see the poured water freezing in front of Ghost. Whenever the Others appear, the temperature drops or they appear WHEN the temperatures drop. Research about them is scarce, as Samwell Tarly says in book five (small spoiler, sorry!). Whatever the case, they are correlated with a drop in temperatures. If you see water freezing instantly, you better get your dragon steel ready. We then see one of the Other taking the sacrificed baby on a horse to a mountain. This is where things get really interesting. The one riding the horse is the familiar Other. We have seen him before. He was the one leading the attack against the Night's Watch men on Fist of the First Men. But the second Othe...

Criss Angel Mindfreak: The Wizard of AXN

I'm pretty sure most of us is familiar with Criss Angel, and with good reasons. He is an American illusionist, magician, escapologist and stunt performer. Note that I wrote illusionist first, cause that's what Criss likes to think of himself. His show, Criss Angel Mindfreak, is broad casted on AXN on Wednesdays, at 16:30 GMT. Believe me, his illusions are mindblowing, and apparently impossible! But that's what Criss is best at;making the impossible seem normal! Allow me to give an example. Criss Angel has set himself the target of walking across Lake Mead, the largest lake in US. And he does succeed. He walks on water for about 200 yards. Now, remember people, its a lake.So it rules put any theories of plexiglass pillars. Moreover, Criss, at the end of his walk, start to sink under the water, eventually disappearing completely! The illusion is simply awesome, and many critics have failed to provide an explanation for this! One explanation says " He had completed construction...

Here's to Beethoven's 9th

This week was a LONG one. I didn't sleep a single day stress free, but heck, that's what college life is all about! Right now, I am way out of my comfort zone in my class. I'm taking Music in Stanley Kubrick's films, and I have no knowledge about music. I am learning how to describe music and all these new terms. Sometimes, it feels a bit overwhelming, with 2 tests, one presentation and 1 weekend project every week. But in the midst of all these chaos, I found one thing: Beethoven's 9th. I cannot describe the music maestro's 9th symphony and that's what is most beautiful about this masterpiece. Its everything and nothing at the same time. Its life made sound. Its energy made vibrations. Those crescendos takes you up high in the sky and let's you fly. It lets the emotion flow through your body smoothly. And the 4th movement fills you up with this inexplicable happiness. Oh! When they start the chorus, I feel something running through my body- something...
